When we decide to go on camping is because we want to live a different experience: we are looking for quiet peace, recreation or just to have a good time outdoors. But apart from our camping equipment there are many things we need to know before taking part of this adventure: first we must choose the place very carefully, a place that would be easy for us to find and to move along. There are thousands of places where we can camp but we must think of where are we going to place our camping equipment?, will be enough space for our tents?, Will we have appropriate toilets?, etc. We must understand that camping is a recreational activity in where we are supposed to get away and enjoy nature; we achieve this by spending nights at a campsite or camping (term widely used in Latinoamerica). Our camping equipment consists of a tent, for many, a primitive structure, but for others the key to adventure. There are many different types of tents, since these small portable houses are made to please our needs and to adapt to each environment, for example if we go on trip during the winter we’ll need a winter tent, a tent that is capable of holding the hostile weather. On the other hand, if we go on camping during Spring, we won’t need a tent that support weather facts like strong winds, but we’ll need one that is capable of resisting the rain. |
The same happens to the rest of our camping equipment, we need to know first where are we going, then we’ll be able to know what will need. We can choose a backpacking, this is a mobile variety of tents; people used to keep this equipment in order to carry it long distances on foot. It give them the chance to take it wherever they go and that’s why these camping equipments cost much more than the traditional. Inside camping equipments we find the Canoe, similar to backpacking with the difference that uses canoes for transportation, in this case we can carry more bulk and weight since we are using a canoe or a kayak, this equipments are very common in North America. We don’t have to forget that when we carry our equipments we are not only carrying tents, we also have to keep with us things such us bottles of water, sleeping bags, kitchen stuff, clothes, etc. that’s why whenever we go on camping we must remain as much light as we can. |

Among the camping equipment we need to go on this trip we necessary need to take: a hatchet, saw or axe in order to cut firewood or in case we want to construct camp gadgets; a tent, here we must pay attention to the tent we’re taking with us, it must be the right tent. Capable of pleasing our needs. A sleeping bag, a very important element of any camping equipment, many people consider that a sleeping bag is not needed but they are wrong; if we spend many days outdoors and we want to sleep properly we need one, otherwise the next morning we will get up with muscles aches or worse. In a camping equipment we also find a sleeping pad or air mattress, these are very effective to place underneath the sleeping bag in order to cushioning from stones, is also very used to prevent insulation from the ground. Flashlights are also very used every time we go on camping, since some night we decide to go exploring the woods and we need a light with us; it is also good in case our campsite lacks of electricity due to a black out. A portable stove to prepare hot meals is also necessary, during a period of the day, could be at night or in the morning we are going to suffer cold wind, that’s why we need to get hot drink or meals, the stove will allow us to keep our body warm. Finally, what is also recommended in camping equipments is a chuck box, these boxes are used to hold camp kitchen items used to prepare food; there are other types of boxes in where we pile up clean up items, or gadgets. |
Many people wonder where are supposed to find these accessories; there are thousand of camping stores who sell all this and more such us dishes, pans, pots, glasses, spoons, forks, etc; when we go on camping we can take with us many other accessories such us lotion for mosquito or creams to protect our skin from the sun, but this equipment is more related to our specific needs. We don’t have to forget that when we decide to go on in camping trip, we need to take only what is necessary, otherwise carrying the rest of the stuff could turn tedious and annoying; camping equipments are supposed to be enjoyed and make our activities easier by providing us the accurate help.
