The countries that participate of the FIFA world cup 2006 in Germany will be divided into 8 groups, each group will have 4 teams in it.
Each group will have a leader, according to the FIFA importance ranking.
The drawing took place in Leipzing, Germany, December 09.
In this drawing there were many soccer celebrities including great sport legends from different countries.
The show was broadcasted for 350 million people all around the world.

Each team of each group will play against the other teams of the same group. The matches of the same group will be played in one of the venues of this soccer world championship of Germany 2006.
Once the first round is over, the first 2 of each group will go straight to the second round, where the best 16 teams will play and only one of each match will classify for quarters.
